Directions

PARTICIPANTS SHOULD PLAN TO LEAVE EARLY, AS A GENERAL RULE AIM TO BE IN HARTIES BY 4:30AM.

Suggested route from Pretoria and Centurion:

The preferred route for participants (from anywhere in Pretoria and Centurion, excluding Pretoria-west and Atteridgeville) is the N1 north towards Polokwane. Just north of Pretoria at Doornpoort take the N4 Rustenburg freeway, take the R511 off-ramp towards Hartbeespoort/Brits, turn left on the R511 towards Hartbeespoort and at the SASOL garage turn right on the R513 and follow to Hartbeespoort Holiday Resort.

From Pretoria-west and Atteridgeville take the N4 Church street extension west towards Hartbeespoort. Turn right towards Hartbeespoort and follow the R511 over Saartjies Nek and continue through Hartbeespoort. At the TOTAL garage turn right and follow the R511 over Silkaats Nek towards Brits. At the SASOL garage turn left at the R513 and follow it to Hartbeespoort Holiday resort.

However, from other areas we recommend the N4 Rustenburg freeway since this will avoid travelling through Hartbeespoort.

Suggested route from Pretoria Johannesburg (West Rand, Fourways, Roodepoort, Krugersdorp etc.)

Take the N1 Western bypass. Take the Malibongwe off-ramp and follow the R512 past Lanseria. At Broederstroom turn right towards Pelindaba and follow the R511 over Saartjies Nek and continue through Hartbeespoort. At the TOTAL garage turn right and follow the R511 over Silkaatsnek towards Brits. At the SASOL garage turn left at the R513 and follow it to Hartbeespoort Holiday resort. Avoid the R511 from Diepsloot since there are road works and stop and goes currently. Take note, the road at Damdoryn will be closed and you will not be able to access the venue. Therefore make sure to turn right at Broederstroom and pass on the eastern-side of the dam.
